PROVISIONAL PATENT APPLICATION (PPA)
A provisional patent application (PPA) is a low-cost step before filing for a non-provisional (utility) patent that gives one year of patent pending status. It provides time to evaluate, prototype, test market, seek investors or manufactures for your invention before investing in the cost of a regular patent.
Definition of A Provisional Patent Application
